Our client a leading services organisation are expanding their Business Consulting business and require a specialist in Communications and Technology Consultant with skills and experience in Communications and Technology Industries. The ComTech practice serves major clients in the technology and telecommunications space. In the technology space, they serve clients across three major business segments:  online, software and high technology manufacturers.  In the telecommunications segments they service major clients across the network, cable and wireless segments. Their business consulting practice provides management consulting services to their clients with an emphasis on providing strategy and operations consulting. They provide consulting support to both the business and the IT functions.

 

Role and Responsibilities
The Manager position is a critical role within our practice. The successful candidate is expected to spend most of his or her time shaping and leading business transformation programs to address strategic business challenges and deliver the highest quality work to our clients.  The remainder of the Manager’s time will be spent identifying and working with consulting leadership to identify and pursue business opportunities to provide value to our clients across the technology business segments. The successful candidate will:
  • Provide project leadership and direction on one or more projects while maintaining a high quality level of service.  Ensure quality on all deliverables.
  • Develop and manage client relationships on projects
  • Manage delivery dates, resourcing and schedules
  • Facilitate project execution by providing support in project-level issue resolution and management of scope
  • Help build, lead, and develop team of onshore/offshore consultants
  • Identify and pursue up-sell opportunities
  • Contribute to business development through activities such as pre-sales client presentations, research, and writing proposal, RFP responses and SOWs
  • Have the ability to position industry insights as they pertain to client needs & requirements
Basic Requirements
  • The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in consulting, deep communications industry acumen and domain knowledge of one or more of the following:
    • BSS Transformation- Experience in providing consulting and process support to Communication industry BSS (Business Support Systems) applications, Understanding of  BSS application impacts to downstream customer operation support tools and processes, and knowledge of foundational components of the BSS architecture including Product, Customer Care, Revenue, and Order Management
    • Customer Experience- Experience in enhancing customer operations effectiveness through focused management of IT and consultative project investment, Omni Chanel Contact strategies, Customer Experience Management strategy, Contact center operational improvements, Social response effectiveness and growth strategy
    • Analytics – experience in the telecoms domain of BI, data models, analytics and the evolution of BI for data management, presentation and consumption, in particular how BI is most effectively used for omni-channel marketing and customer experience.  Ability to drive problem solving through analytics from our analysis and recommendation perspective but also to be able to develop analytics driven approaches for our clients
    • Connected Home & Product Management – Understanding of Smart/Connected home industry trends and strategic impacts to CSPs as well as business drivers into Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of things (IoT) with knowledge of Product Development Process Acceleration and Tools
  • In addition to above domain areas, analytics experience to deliver transformative insights and value through business modeling, systems integration, and strategic consulting is strongly desired.
  • Successful candidates are likely to have a minimum 7 years’ experience in management consulting with a management and/or technology consulting firm
  • Successful candidates are likely to have a minimum 5 years’ experience in client relationship management and pre-sales support in the Technology industry in a consulting or industry practitioner role
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Minimum Bachelor’s level Degree required

  • Ability to develop white papers and points of view to promote eminence and client engagement
  • Proven ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities
  • Experience building deep client relationships and identifying client’s priority needs for service and support
  • Knowledge of process flows, systems and procedures which aids analysis and recommendations for solution offerings to exploit new business opportunities
  • Ability to manage teams of consultants and work with cross functional and client facing teams
A positive, results oriented style, evidenced by listening, motivating, delegating, influencing, and monitoring the work being done to develop the next generations of leaders
  • Experience working in an on/off-shore model
